What we know
Merafong City covers Carletonville, Fochville, Khutsong, Kokosi and Wedela, on the far West Rand. Switchboard 018 788 9500, contact centre 018 788 9990, email info@merafong.gov.za.
The municipality runs a GIS portal at gis.merafong.gov.za/portal.
What it does not publish
We could not find a building plan page, checklist or current building tariff on Merafong's website in October 2026. The sundry tariff link we found returned an error. The National Building Regulations apply here as everywhere, and the documents almost every council asks for are on our submission checklist. The local details have to be confirmed with the municipality before a submission.

Checked October 2026. Councils change their tariffs every July, so confirm fees before you pay.
