BuildingPlans.co.za

How it works

From the first message to the council's decision, and who does what along the way.

  1. Tell us what you want to build

A WhatsApp message is enough: what you want to build or sort out, and the suburb. Photos or an old plan help if you have them.

  2. We look at the stand and the rules

Zoning, building lines, the title deed conditions and what your council will ask for. If something needs a town planner first, we tell you what we find before drawing.

  3. Plans drawn and signed

Measured, drawn to SANS 10400 and signed by a professional registered with SACAP in the right category for the job.

  4. Submitted and followed up

We submit to your municipality, answer the plan examiner's comments and follow the file with the council.

Who we are

BuildingPlans.co.za is a family architectural practice based in Pretoria. Plans are drawn and signed by architectural professionals registered with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP), and the person who signs is always registered in the category the work needs: a draughtsperson, technologist, senior technologist or architect.

What we will and will not say

  • We check your stand's zoning, building lines and title deed before drawing and tell you what we find.
  • We tell you the council's own fees separately, from its published tariff where there is one.
  • We do not promise approval dates. The law gives councils 30 days for buildings under 500 m² and 60 days for bigger ones, once a submission is complete, and the council controls its own queue.
  • We do not take on work outside the signing professional's SACAP category.
