What we know
Rand West City was formed in 2016 from the Randfontein and Westonaria municipalities. It has offices in both towns:
- Randfontein: corner Sutherland and Pollock Street
- Westonaria: Neptune and Saturn Street
These addresses are from the municipality's old website, so confirm before you go.

What it does not publish
When we checked in October 2026, the municipality's website had no building plan page, no submission checklist, no forms and no building plan tariff that we could find. That does not mean the rules are different: the National Building Regulations apply here as everywhere, and the documents almost every council asks for are on our submission checklist.
It does mean the details (how many copies, which forms, the current fee) have to be confirmed with the office before a submission.
